I am a huge fan of NBC Thursdays. I watch Parks and Recreation, Up all Night, and 30 Rock religiously. Although the shows are flawed, I love how female dominated that block of television programing is.
This video, bothers me. I loved seeing all my favorite NBC stars, but why was the song written about the “brotherhood”? Female actresses dominate NBC Thursdays, the NBC’s most watched evening of television. I don’t think I’m alone here either. I am not sure, and this is pure speculation, but Amy Poehler didn’t seem thrilled when she began singing about this “brotherhood.”
I thought NBC was being somewhat progressive for having three television shows in one night that center around female characters. But this “extended commercial” or whatever it is, just displays how androcentric our society is.
